Join us for our February Second Tuesday workshop led by Andrea Walls, a multidisciplinary artist and founder of The Museum of Black Joy, where we will consider joy as an alternative to truth as a foundation for social justice.
Together, we will create a joy lexicon from which to write love songs of the past and love letters to the future. Using a cross-genre approach, we will consider WEB DuBois' "Sorrow Songs" as a starting point to excavate and center joy as an "emergent strategy" from seasons of exhaustion and grief.
Community dinner free and open to all immediately following. Masks are encouraged.
