Second Tuesday: Between The Lines
Join us for our monthly workshop at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships. In this workshop, we’ll use a series of poetic forms to explore opposites, contradictions, redaction, and the complexity of our stories. Using antonym poems, the Golden Shovel, and blackout poetry, we’ll experiment with communicating the multiple facets of our truths and our stories, and make space for what's between the lines.
Free and open to all, with community dinner immediately following.

Won’t you be my neighbor? Join us for our monthly workshop at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden St, from 4:30pm - 6:00pm, for our first Second Tuesday of 2025. We are excited to partner with the Undergraduate Student Government Association, in connection to their project “How to Be A Good Neighbor.” In this writing workshop, we will explore neighbors — our memories of and with them, things unsaid, and creative recipes for how to be (or become) a good neighbor.

Second Tuesday: Returning
Join us for our monthly workshop at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships.
In Chinese culture, the winter solstice is celebrated with the traditional Dōngzhì Festival to mark winter’s arrival. Observed on the longest night of the year, Dōngzhì is a turning point—every day after means more light. The festival’s philosophy is associated with the I-Ching hexagram fu, “Returning.” This is the return of positive yang energy after a period of darkness.
For the last Second Tuesday workshop of 2024, we’ll write with this sense of return in mind as we take stock of what we need to reconcile with ourselves in order to make space to create something new as the solstice approaches.
Free and open to all, with community dinner immediately following.

Join us for our monthly workshop at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships. This month we will celebrate 10 years of the Dornsife Center (and Writers Room!) with a workshop facilitated by Teaching Artist Lauren Lowe.
We’ll look back and reflect on the transformations of the last decade, noting the changes we’ve witnessed in ourselves, our neighbors, and our communities. By looking to the past, we’ll see what that tells us about where we’re going—together.
