The UnMapping Project presents a short screening and panel discussion on the intersection of criminal justice reform and barriers to housing at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnership’s Lindy House, 3509 Spring Garden St.
RSVP for the screening and panel here.
Hosted by UnMapping Fellow Stephanie Dorenbosch, the panel will consist of entrepreneur Yusuf Dahl, State Representative Jordan Harris, advocate John Pace, and City Councilmember Rue Landau.
We will start by screening a short documentary about Dahl’s experience being unable to rent due to a felony conviction as a young person, despite founding a real estate development and management company with over 200 residential and commercial units. The panel will then discuss the myriad of ways that formerly incarcerated individuals struggle to access housing after being released, and possible solutions at the local, state, and federal level.
