Them That Do

Writers Room is excited to host Them That Do, an arts and activism workshop led by artist Lori Waselchuk! The workshop combines an introduction to digital photography and composition with presentations by Mantua community activists. This workshop is funded by Everyday Places Artist Partnership, a Barnes West program.

Them That Do is a visual arts and activism project that creates conversations about community and mutual aid. There will be two workshops on Wednesdays, July 17th and 24th, from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at Writers Room, to introduce participants to digital photography, composition techniques, and practice with digital cameras in a relaxed and generative space. In each class, participants will be introduced to community activists who will join in the art-making and share information about their projects and philosophies.

Workshop participants can also join the Photowalk on Saturday, July 27th, 10:00am - 12:00pm to see the community activists in action, and use their digital photography skills to document the work.

Please RSVP for the July 17th and 24th workshops HERE. Free and open to all, but space is limited.
